Dr. Gaurav Goel is the Institute of Neurosciences' Director and Head of Neuro Interventional Surgery. Dr. Gaurav Goel is a neuro-interventionist who received his training at Canada's famed Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital. Dr. Gaurav Goel specialises in the treatment of vascular problems of the brain and spine, such as aneurysm coiling, embolization of AVMs (arterio-venous malformations), stenting in intracranial and extracranial atherosclerotic disease, and tumour embolization. Dr. Gaurav Goel is also well-versed in the use of recently designed flow diverter stents for cerebral aneurysms. His principal research interest continues to be the treatment of acute stroke with mechanical and chemical thrombolytic therapies.
