After completing his medical education, he practiced as a Specialist in the Department of Organ Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Surgery at Groote Schuur. He also undertook training for three years in Gastrointestinal, Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgery across various NSH Hospitals in United Kingdom. Later he returned to his homeland, and started practicing at the Gastrointestinal Surgery Department at Gobind Ballabh Pant Hospital, New Delhi.
